Power systems globally face a ‘wicked problem’ of simultaneously integrating renewable generation, managing ageing assets, responding to a customer-led revolution underpinned by disruptive technologies, and maintaining power system reliability, while reducing spiralling energy costs.

Technologies successfully underpinning Queensland’s power system for decades must rapidly transform to ensure reliable and cost-effective electricity to support the State’s economic prosperity and lifestyle in 2030 with 50% renewable energy integration.
